Dear Friends:

Less than a week ago the Evangelical Catholic Church assumed the pastoral commitment to revamp and resume the mission of Saint John the Evangelist Seminary, which was established in 2006.  We do not take this obligation casually.  For many years the Evangelical Catholic Church was pained by the fact that there has been a need for a serious attempt to provide academic formation for candidates to the priesthood for the Autocephaleous Catholic jurisdictions.  Now the Holy Spirit has brought to us a fine seminary program that needed mentoring and renewed stewardship and we are prepared to accept these responsibilities.

After consulting with others who share in our commitment to academic formation, I decided to use the time between now and January 1st, 2014 to reorganize and prepare to resume this seminary program on the firmest of ground and with the utmost of professional academic preparedness.

The Evangelical Catholic Church has no desire to hoard this seminary unto itself.  Rather, it is my unconditional desire to open this seminary and to make it a consortium endeavor, sharing the gifts and talents of other jurisdictions for the benefit of our students.  We are pleased that the Ecumenical Catholic Church has committed itself and its talents to Saint John's.  We hope that in time other jurisdictions, who value the importance of the best possible program of academic formation for their candidates, will join this cooperative journey.

As you visit our website and review our programs for the Masters of Divinity , Masters of Theological Studies and the Doctorate of Ministry degrees, we hope that you will agree that our modest seminary is striving for the highest of academic and profession standards of preparation for our future priests.  The jurisdictions of this consortium will never settle for anything less.

There is much for us to do between now and January of 2014.  Please remember us in your prayers and we hope that Saint John the Evangelist Seminary will be your choice for the academic formation of your candidates for the priesthood.

I remain,

Respectfully Yours in Christ,
